A New Jersey native who touched the lives of many was honored Wednesday.
Family and friends gathered in the Port Reading section of Woodbridge to dedicate Cypress Park to former Woodbridge Councilman Vincent Martino.
Martino served in the United States Army and was a volunteer firefighter for 42 years.
Martino died in 2023 from Parkinson’s disease at 88 years old.
“Very nice to be remembered this way, with one life lived and many lives touched, says Martino’s brother, Martin Martino.
“He loved Woodbridge Township. It was his second wife,” joked Martino’s widow Rose Martino.
Those who attended the event said Martino will always be remembered for his commitment to his community and that his legacy will live on for years to come at Cypress Park.
