New Jersey is joining a lawsuit against the Trump administration over health insurance.
The multistate lawsuit claims that an unlawful final rule by the Department of Health and Human Services is making it harder for people to obtain health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.
"It's going to dramatically affect millions of American lives. It will make their lives more expensive. Perhaps, make them less healthy and make health care out of reach, whether they are seeing cancer treatment, needing a lifesaving surgery, primary care, all of that out of reach for millions of people in this country,” says New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin.
Platkin says that as a result of the rule, up to 1.8 million people could lose their affordable health insurance.
